Doctors visit

Today we made our 2nd trip to the doctors. Cruz is now 10lb 13oz and is 22 and 1/2 inches. The doctor said that he is normal with his weight, but is in the top 25% with his length. She said he's going to be a tall one. Thankfully he didn't take after me!! Everything else is perfect which I already knew ;-) Next visit is going to be rough. Cruz gets his shots! We also got a couple letters and little package from Chuck today. He sent his little boy a dog tag with a message on it. I'm going to attach it to his car seat so he can see it hanging down and know that his daddy is missing him. Thank you honey! Your the best!

Memorial Day

Today we celebrated Memorial day and Matt's 23 birthday. We all met up at Chad's loft that he's staying in while his new house is getting ready. Of course there was enough food to feed 20 more people! Cruz slept the whole time once again. He is really relaxed around all the craziness. The highlight was watching my husband's videos from Iraq. Nothing compares to see and hearing him at the same time. Chuck, I am so proud of you......everyone is. And don't worry, I took your spot in the tequila shot line. ;-)

Happy Birthday Matt!!

A note for my husband

Hey honey. I just wanted you to know how proud I am of you and what you're doing. I miss you so much and can't wait for the day when I get to pick you up and bring you home with me and our little man. We pray for you every night. I talk about you all the time to Cruz and let him know that his daddy misses him. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you to be away, but don't worry, everything is being taken care of. I can't wait till you get to hold your little boy for the first time. I know how fortunate I am that I get to hug him and kiss him whenever I want. He's so lucky to have you as his father. We love you. Be careful.
Love alway and forever-
Your wife

A new car!

This week I went shopping for a car. My Mustang was no longer cutting it with trying to fit a car seat and stroller in the back. So I got a 2005 Nissan Altima. It's so nice to have so much room. The trunk is my favorite part. Now I know I'm a mom when I get excited over the trunk of a car! I also put a picture in the back so our son can see his daddy everywhere we go. Here are some pictures so that my husband can see our new purchase. Hope you like it honey!! Thank you!

1 month old!!

Today was Cruz's one month birthday! We spent it by going over to my dad's and hanging out by the pool. Cruz just chilled in his rocker in the shade getting spoiled by his grandpa. His birthday present to me was sleeping 6 hours straight last night. Maybe if I'm lucky this will be a new trend!

Talking with my hubby!

Finally getting to talk with Chuckie has been such a relief. He called Sunday, twice on Monday and again today. The conversations had to be kept short but it was all I needed. The last time we spoke was the day after Cruz's birth. All is well and hopefully when they get to the main base I'll get more information. I love you honey!! Your baby boy misses you!

Party Time!!

Today was Pop's birthday!! How else would it get celebrated other than a crazy family cookout. Cruz got introduced to all the madness and took it in stride by sleeping the whole time. The only argument of the day.....who got to hold him and how long they had. Grandma went so far to take out a timer to make sure everyone got their far share of him. But it didn't work well with a couple "BH's" (baby hogs) in the group. Cruz got to meet his second cousin Joshua for the first time and got to visit with others who hadn't seen him since birth. I got to have my first Corona since I had found out I was pregnant. This might not seem like such a big thing, but it was the one thing I craved the whole time. Things just seemed a little less crazier without my hubby, Chuckie. He always seems to add a little, or a lot, of madness to the party. We missed you honey! Wish you were here! That Corona was for you! Happy Birthday Pops!!! We love you!

Pee-body

Pee-body is the nickname that my mother gave Cruz. Don't ask me how it came about, it just did. Today, it matched him perfectly. I was wonder when this was going to happen and it did. I was changing Cruz's diaper and getting him ready for an outing when he let it come. He peed all over my shirt! If that wasn't enough, he stopped and I started laughing, then he started again. This time all over the wall. I wonder what it's like not to worry about where or who you go to the bathroom on. Below is a picture of tonight's bathtime. Cruz is wonderful in his bath. Come to think of it, there aren't many things that he really hates. I'm so lucky!!

3 weeks old and flipping!

Today was Cruz's 3 week birthday! I laid him down on his back for his afternoon nap, then coming in to check on him I noticed that he had flipped himself over to a more comfortable position. Next thing I know his going to wake up from his nap and walk out asking to eat! Great-grandma Geneva came over and visited, helping me out so I could get some much needed cleaning done. Who knows what week 4 will bring!
