Marine Time

Today we went to the base in Tampa for a family debriefing. I got tons of great information. It's especially exciting because it means time is getting close!! I got to meet all of the wonderful ladies that I talk with over the computer as well as my Key volunteer who gave me the cutest onsie for little Chuck. We got to meet with Sanchez, who was wounded while in Iraq. We also got to have great food. I got a sunburned back from sitting outside for 45 minutes. I guess I need a tan! So we are now as prepared as we could be for the boys to come home. Only a couple more weeks!!

Break time!! Smile!

A New Baby

Tonight we visited with Darcey and her new baby boy, Preston. She came down for a week so we finally got to meet him. He has more hair that I have ever seen on a baby!!! He's just so tiny! I can't wait to have another. Turkey just played with everyone like usual. He's very laid back and easy going which is so nice for me!!

Today our little man is 5 months old!! I can't believe it's already been that long. He's grown so much in such a short period of time. I can't wait for Chuck to get home and see what he's been missing!

Yay!!! 5 months old!!

Eating fun

Well, the baby learned how to make, how do I put it, farting noises. Sorry, I don't know how else to describe it. He's been doing it for the last 2 days and it seems to increase when he's eating. The pictures below is what he looks like afterwards. He thinks it's the funniest thing in the world. I'm not sure where he learned it from, but if you do it to him, he'll do it right back. Now the fun really begins!!

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. My camera broke, so I took these with my camcorder. I have ordered a new camera and it should be in this week.

That was fun, let's do it again!

I love squash!

I got this from Lisa's website. I thought it was really cute and so true!

A Marine's Wife
You know you're a Marine's wife when...
...Your husband knows more about cleaning things than you do.
...When your husband comes home from work and just by one smell you know he's been cleaning weapons all day!
...When someone asks when your husband will be home, you say July or August instead of 5 or 6pm.
...You live on your own and by yourself more after you're married than before you were married
...Most of the married women you know or meet are under 21.
...You know all of your husband's coworkers by their last name, and rarely know their first name.
...When you need I.D to buy groceries.
...You are called "Ma'am" at the age of 18 by every MP that comes into contact with you.
...When you forget you have a driver's license and take your military ID everywhere with you. ...When you know the what it means to be a WM, go to Oki, and what LES means.
...When your hear taps playing at sunset and stand at attention right next to your Marine.
....When you hear "Letters from Home" "Bumper of my SUV" or any Toby Keith song and know every word by heart singing your guts out while shedding a tear.
...When you hear of another death or injury of a US Marine and weep inside for that wife or mother that loved that Marine.
...You know just as much about your husband's job as he does.
...You know what rank that guy in uniform is just by looking at his chevrons.
...When you've never given a haircut in your life but you've perfected the high and tight.
...You really want something but you say "Man, well I'm gonna have to wait for the 1st or 15th for it."
...You got all excited when digi cammies came out, cause you knew then you wouldn't have a cupboard full of starch! And YOU didn't have to iron them anymore!!!
...You ask someone "what's your MOS?" instead of "what's your job?!"
...When half of your wardrobe has some kind of marine insignia on it, and your kids have matching clothes as well haha!
...When the sounds of helicopters, and Jets flying over your house shaking your windows, surprisingly soothe you.
...your husband's work and dress clothes cost more than yours do.
...You know that a 2 month separation IS short, no matter what your civilian friends say.
...You know better than to go to the PX or commissary between 11:30 and 1:30 unless it's a life or death emergency.
...You show your military ID to the greeter at Wal-Mart.
...You know that any reference to "sand box" describes a deployment to Iraq/Kuwait, not your kid's backyard toys.
...You have enough camouflage in your house to wallpaper the White House
...You don't have to think about what time 21:30 is.
...You pick apart uniforms on TV and in the movies, even though you used to yell at your husband for doing the same thing.
...You've learned to sleep through the sounds of tanks, planes, helicopters and artillery simulators.
...You can hate military life but be terrified to leave it all in the same breath.
...You defend your lifestyle no matter how bad things get because you know there's no other life for you!

Birthday Boy

Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to my hubby.
Happy birthday to you!!!

Today is Chuckie's 22 birthday! Wow, we're getting old!!I remember number 17. Well honey, I hope you have a wonderful birthday, or at least as good as it could be. We're so proud of you and what you're doing. Little Chuckie is sending you a birthday kiss via air mail. You're a wonderful husband and I know that you're going to be the best father to our little man. Keep you head up and be careful. It's almost over. I love you!!

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

Doctor Time

Today we went to the doctor's. Little Chuckie got 3 more shots. It was not fun for him or me. After about 2 minutes he was fine again. He weighed 16lbs 3oz and is 26 inches long. I can't believe in 4 1/2 months he's already grown 7 inches!! The doctor told me that I could start feeding him food. If only she knew he'd been eating it for over a month. Oh well!!
Chuckie, you'll be home in time for the next one and then you can hold his little arms down while they do it. Me and my sister went to Chili's for lunch and of course little man was the star. All the girls came up and were talking to him. One said, "I heard there was the cutest baby over here, so I had to come see." What a ladies man!!

Hurricane

With all the craziness going on with the hurricane, there are only a few stories out there that show how regular people, who can't go down and help, are helping. I went to this website and found thousands of people who are giving their homes to help others out. I just think it's so sweet to look at what people are doing for the victims.
