Picture Time!!

Today we went over to Chuck's parents house for church, food, and pictures. Mitchell Foster, he did my wedding photos, was kind enough to set up a place to take turkey's first photos. Chuck's dad and Vinny watched Chuck's tapes. Turkey found a girlfriend. Mitch and Terry's little girl, Emily. Of course, as girls are, Carla and I took full advantage of having a professional photographer around! It was hard not having Chuck here to take real family pictures. In time though. I miss you honey! Hope you like the pictures. I'm going to be adding a photo album with more of them in it. Just click on the link to the left.

3 months!!!

Today our little boy is 3 months old!! It was a wonderful day! I saw the mailman drop off the mail, loaded up the baby and went straight out. As soon as I opened it, I saw it. A box that said "from LCpl Fernandez". Love in a box from Iraq!! I knew what was in it, but just seeing the handwritting made my day. A letter, tapes and house plans. Chuck called as soon as I pulled back up to the house. He was about to go on watch and said he would call back in a couple hours after I watched the tapes. Then, at 5:30, I got the next call. Two phone calls in a day, and a package!! Can't beat that!

I love you Chuck!! Can't wait to get started on our dream home!!

Gotta love him!!

Look!! I can stand!!!

Outing

Little Chuckie and I had a exciting day today. We went to Tampa to hang out with everyone. When we first got there we went to Uncle Chad's new house to find the lawn being torn apart. Turkey got to visit with the hard workers, his grandpa and Uncle Vinny. We then took a tour of his new house which is being all fixed up. Don't worry Chuck, I made sure to find out where the pool table was going. And it will be there for your coming home party. Then I met up with Lisa Covell, who's husband is also in Iraq. We watched some videos and got to talk, which I really enjoyed. Everyone slowly began to pile into Grandma's house. Since it was so hot, we all wanted to get in the pool. The problem? No one had swimsuits. So Ashley and I borrowed Grandma's and all the guys got Pop's. Not our normal styles, but they worked. Grandma made us some great food in no time. Then we just hung out and talked. It was a nice time to meet new people and have fun with family.

Chuck-I love you honey!! Don't worry it's all on video!

I thought this was really cute

The Military Wife

The good Lord was creating a model for military wives and was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared. She said," Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"
The Lord replied," Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be completely independent, possess the qualities of both mother and father, be a perfect hostess for four to 40 with an hour notice, run on black coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able to carry on cheerfully, even if she is pregnant and has the flu, and she must have six pair of hands."
The angel shook her head. "Six pair of hands? No way!"
The Lord continued. "Don't worry, we will make other military wives to help her. And we will give her an unusually strong heart so it can swell with pride in her husbands achievements, sustain the pain of separation, beat soundly when it is overworked and tired, and be large enough to say, "I understand" when she doesn't and "I love you" regardless.
"Lord," said the angel, touching his arm gently, "Go to bed and get some rest. You can finish this tomorrow."
"I can't stop now," Said the Lord. "I am so close to creating something unique. Already this model heals herself when she is sick, can put up six unexpected guests for the weekend, wave good-bye to her husband from a pier, a runway or a depot, and understand why it's important that he leave."
The angel circled the model of the military wife, looked at itclosely and sighed."It looks fine, but it's too soft."
"She may look soft," replied the Lord, "but she had the strength of a lion. You would not believe what she can endure."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Lord's creation. "There's a leak," she announced. "Something is wrong with the construction. I'm not surprised that it has cracked. You are trying to put too much into this model."
The Lord appeared offended at the angel's lack of confidence. "What you see is not a leak," he said. "It's a tear."
"A tear? What is it there for?" asked the angel.
The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, pain, disappointment, loneliness, pride and dedication to all the values that she and her husband hold dear."
"You are a genius!" exclaimed the angel.
The Lord looked puzzled and replied, "I didn't put it there."
